I never did an update on the one from 2 months ago but I checked the firmware versions after reading this post and they are the same on both controllers. I tried 2 black ones and a white one to see if the color might have made it a different batch/lot, it didnt. As I said above I went through 3 different ones and this one still doesnt work. I got the $5 warranty just so I wouldn't have to wait for a replacement in the future, and damn was I glad I got it. The controller from 2 months ago started to have joystick issues so while I waited for them to replace it (manufacturer warranty) I went to gamestop to get a new one. The only difference in them is the LOT #. However I have one I grabbed 2 months ago that has no issues with the same headset. I just spent the day trying 3 new controllers from gamestop and none of them worked without me shoving my mic in my mouth and still talking loudly. I know I'm a little late but figured I'd add my findings here.
